Ashley Hutson

Manassas City Council

During her time at Christopher Newport University, Ashley studied the Spanish language and culture with hopes to bridge communication barriers in her current and future workplace. Immediately after graduating, Ashley began work in a Human Resources position at a large contracting firm, using her knowledge to help the Spanish Speaking employees both professionally and sometimes with personal matters.

Through her work as an Association Professional, Ashley advocates for needs of businesses and their employees. She holds a multi-faceted position in which she has proven skills in gathering and organizing both people and programs.

Ashley spent her first year of residence in the City of Manassas living in an apartment at the vivacious corner of Center and Battle Streets. In 2020, she and her fiancé were fortunate to purchase a couple miles outside of Old Town where they plan to reside long-term.

Since interviewing for a Council position in 2020, Ashley has been actively involved in local and regional committees in support of the City of Manassas.

Appointed by Vice Mayor Pam Sebesky, Ashley has served on the Washington Council of Governments Transportation Planning Board Community Advisory Committee and has served as Chair and is currently Vice Chair.

Ashley serves on the City of Manassas Board of Building Code Appeals where she has served as Chair.

Ashley serves on the Perkins Grant Committee for Osbourn High School.

Through watching past and current Council members and by serving on local committees, Ashley has a strong foundation for the many arenas in which the City of Manassas is serving it’s residents.

Ashley is proud to live in the City of Manassas because of it’s enhanced public spaces, businesses and restaurants, and the variety of cultures in our neighborhoods.  If elected to City Council, she strives to ensure Manassas keeps moving forward as a place people enjoy living and working.
